W. Sidney Smith, Chief Executive Officer


W. Sidney “Sid” Smith is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Smith Equities. Mr. Smith has been involved in all phases of the real estate development and investment industry for over 40 years. In addition to being Mayor of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Mr. Smith has also served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Central Michigan University, his alma mater. He has served on local and regional bank boards, as president of the Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce and been honored with the Mt. Pleasant Citizen of the Year Award.

 

 

 

 

Stacia S. Feinberg, Vice President

 

Stacia S. Feinberg is a Vice President of Smith Equities. Ms. Feinberg joined the company in 1996 and is responsible for all real estate development activities with a focus on financial structuring. Prior to that she was a Consultant in Chicago, where she formulated marketing strategies. From 1991 – 1993 Ms. Feinberg worked in Washington, D.C. as a Staff Assistant in The White House. Ms. Feinberg graduated from The University of Michigan with a B.A. in English Literature and from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business with a Master’s in Business Administration.

 

 

 

Stephen F. Smith, Vice President


Stephen F. Smith is a Vice President of Smith Equities. Mr. Smith joined the company in 1997 and is responsible for all real estate development activities with a specialization in zoning, lease estimating and analysis, and construction design and oversight. Prior to joining Smith Equities, Mr. Smith was a hunting and fishing guide in Alaska. In addition, Mr. Smith has served on Union Township Planning Commission as Secretary and the Union Township Board of Appeals as Vice Chair. Mr. Smith holds a B.S. in Communications from Western Michigan University.

 

 

 

Cathy "Katie" Schenkhuizen, Executive Assistant

Katie Schenkhuizen joined Smith Equities in 1988 as Executive Assistant. Ms. Schenkhuizen is responsible for office operations, is the assistant to the CEO and also assists the development team with special projects. Ms. Schenkhuizen was previously employed by the Central Michigan District Health Department for 10 years.

 

 

 

Ramie Harrison, Chief Financial Officer

Ramie Harrison joined Smith Equities in 2010 as Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Harrison earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Central Michigan University. Ms. Harrison's primary duties as Chief Financial Officer for the company include accounts payable, bank reconciliations and funds management. In addition, she is involved with reviewing the monthly financial reports for many of the properties in the Smith Equities portfolio.
